PHYSICS UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Airlangga, is the eighth faculty within Universitas Airlangga and was established in 1982. The Physics Department is one of the four departments within FMIPA, occupying a new building at Campus C UNAIR with an area of 1,440 m². It has 25 lecturers with master’s and doctoral degrees and 2 professors. To conduct activities, particularly those related to staff and laboratory development, the Physics Department received equipment assistance from Japan (OECF-II) in 1988, assistance from the Basic Sciences Development Project in 1994, and ADB assistance in 1999 for equipment and further studies. The equipment obtained from these aids has been utilized to the fullest extent for education, research, and community service activities. The readiness of the Physics Department in fulfilling its educational mission has been recognized by the government, granting it an A accreditation status in 1999. This accreditation status has had an impact, evidenced by winning the Block Grant Semi-QUE (1999-2003) and PHK-A2 (2006-2009), aimed at enhancing the relevance, efficiency, and productivity, as well as improving the academic atmosphere of the Physics Department.
